 An approved helmet is the most important piece of protective equipment that any player will wear!
A helmet that fits properly with an appropriate facemask and mouth guard will greatly reduce the risk of a head injury. Helmets are designed to protect players from low-energy impacts, such as a stick lightly hitting the helmet, and against high-energy impacts, such as the head hitting the boards.
Helmets cannot prevent all injuries, but will minimize the risk of an injury when fitted and worn properly. A helmet cannot protect players from injuries to the spine.
